After the rather poor Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, hopes weren’t high for the sequel that boasted transforming vehicle gimmickry. However, what Sumo Digital have managed to produce here is utterly fantastic and far more engrossing than you could have ever expected.
While following reasonably close to the gameplay model founded by Mario Kart, it also features plenty of its own talents and additions that set it apart as an enjoyable arcade racer.
It may not be able to ever stand up to Nintendo’s behemoth, but it certainly has enough strength in its legs to stand on its own – especially with this celebration of everything Sega.
